REVIEW
My overall review for this novel is three and a half stars out of five. I found evermore to be a very quick and easy read, with an easy to follow plot and enough mystique to keep the pages turning. Even though this novel found its faults with me, I still found it to be an enjoyable read.
CHARACTERS
Sadly, the characters played a significant role of decreasing my enjoyment from the novel. I found Ever to be incredibly downcast and exasperating. I understand the toll of her situation is reason for her moodiness, but I was expecting her to possess uplifting spirits much sooner in the novel. I also despised our love interest Damen. Damen became a very possessive and controlling character rapidly in the story. He presumed that he had the final say in Ever's action, and Ever happily obliged. a trait I found unappealing. On the flip side, I did enjoy the company of the side characters Riley and Miles. I found that they carried their weight easily, and also added the needed comic relief.
WRITING STYLE
The writing style was a plus for me in this novel. I found Noel's writing style to be very easy and quick to read. She also has the gift of adding the fantastical details sufficiently throughout the story, which easily guided the reader through the mystical world and saved any means of overwhelming the audience.
PLOT
My feelings are neutral towards the plot. I felt that it wasn't as organized as it could have been in specific parts, but it still manage to successfully pull the reader in. Our antagonist was thrown in at last minute; an adjustment that did not fit well with me; and the romance felt very insta-lovish from first glance.
CONCLUSION
Despite my cons with this novel, I did have a pleasurable reading experience with the novel. As far as the rest of the immortals series is concerned, I am not overly-confident that I will continue on with the rest of the series. But I did enjoy this book, and anyone who is looking for a fast, easy read will want to check this book out. I'm Kat, and I'll see you in another review soon. Bye! :)
